Founder & Choreographer

Maureen Breeze

Maureen Breeze’s choreography has been produced by presenters in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Mexico, and Denver. As the director of JUMSPTART/Dance Works (1995-2005), Ms. Breeze choreographed for the professional stage, while also creating extensive outreach programs for students of all ages, seniors, and incarcerated populations. Over the years, her work has been funded by the SCFD, Colorado Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, the Robert McCormick Tribune Foundation, the Mayor’s Office of Art, Culture and Film, and various private foundations. In 2017 she launched MBDT to produce a wide variety of creative projects that include roaming dance performances at public transportation sites, multi-media productions in city buildings, and original dance film. In addition to her creative projects, Maureen serves as a resident choreographer and board director for Ballet Melange and teaches at the Classical Ballet Academy in Denver, CO. Her choreography for these organizations has been presented at international competitions and auditions in Berlin, Madrid, Ukraine and Lithuania.

“…the choreography was by Maureen Breeze, whose ambitions are wide, inventions intriguing and realizations absorbing.”
